
MISS SANDRA RIVERA
Owner/Director/Teacher
Miss Sandra enjoys sharing her love of performing with her students. She studied dance locally as a child & began student teaching at the age of 15. She tested & became a certified dance teacher with Dance Masters of America. After 5 years of teaching & managing studios, Miss Sandra auditioned for her first professional show at age 20 & began traveling the country singing & dancing at numerous theme parks & worked as dance captains & cast managers. She has choreographed shows for many theme parks & has worked as a choreographer for audition tours. Miss Sandra was instrumental in casting talent for many theme park shows over the years. Her favorite performing job was as a performer on cruise ships. She worked for Dolphin & Carnival Cruise lines. Once back on land & settled in Louisville, Miss Sandra opened Dancensation studios which is now celebrating 26 years – YAY!!! Miss Sandra worked for 20 plus years at Derby Dinner Playhouse. She was proud to perform everynight on stage at Derby Dinner as a Footnote in their singing preshow for 11 straight years. Miss Sandra has been in 45 Derby Dinner productions. She has also worked locally for Riverpops, Music Theater Louisville, Centerstage & more as a performer & a choreographer. She has students who have gone on to work on Broadway, at Disney World, on the Disney Channel & in TV & Film. She is so proud of her students who have made it big as performers & is most proud of them for being good humans. She is mom to Julian (age 25) & Channing (age 10).
FRANK GOODLOE
Mr. Frank is a former football player turned dancer. He worked in children’s theater for years with the Blue Apple Players performing & touring the region. He has traveled the country performing at many theme parks including Coney Island & Canobie Lake Park. Mr. Frank has worked locally for Derby Dinner Playhouse, Music Theater Louisville, Centerstage, Pandora, Riverpops & more. He is a professional actor, choreographer & director. Mr. Frank is now the performance & visual arts director at Centerstage at the JCC. He directs our Dancensation musicals & has been teaching at Dancensation for 21 years.
JILL SULLIVAN
Jill Sullivan is a dedicated performer, teacher, and friend. She was last seen onstage at CenterStage as Georgie in The Full Monty. Jill has also performed with Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre, Pandora Productions, CenterStage, MTL, Paddlewheel Productions, the Ivoryton Playhouse and the Hudson Theater Ensemble. Her favorite roles; Tracy Turnblad - Hairspray, Logainne - Spelling Bee, Jan - Grease, Roberta - Zanna Don't, Jennyanydots - Cats, and Shirley Markowitz - The Producer. Jill has performed at Walt Disney World for shows and parades and currently teaches voice, dance, and acting at Dacensation Studios. By day, Jill teaches in JCPS and is the resident choreographer for Mercy Academy Theater. She loves teaching at Dancensation because the students are so passionate about becoming better performers. “I like to share my training and skills to help students be the best they can be.”
JESSICA ADAMSON
Jessica Adamson is so grateful to be given the opportunity to be able to teach young artists at Dancensation. When she isn’t teaching voice she is either out performing with her band’s Wax Factory, and Full Contact Karaoke or pretending to know the law as a Legal Assistant. She has been seen in shows all over the Kentuckiana region since she was 5 years old and after leaving Northern Kentucky University where she went to earn a BFA in Musical Theatre, she went to Missouri to perform regionally in Miss Saigon, earning her a spot as an EMC (Equity Membership Candidate) member. She spends any free time she has on taking care of her 4 children which include 2 Corgis named Tucker and Rosie, a Lab named Homer, and a boyfriend named Logan. If you’re unsure of what to get her for Christmas, cheese is always a good option.
JENNY FRIEDENBERG
Jenny Friedenberg is a native Louisvillian with a nearly 20 year background in dance and theatre performance. She has a B.A. in Broadcasting and a minor in Performing Arts Administration from Western Kentucky University. In recent years, she has performed with Kasari Dance and Graceful Movement Dance Company, as well as CenterStage, Shelby County Community Theatre, and Mind's Eye Theatre Company. Acting credits include the Fair Witch in Dark of the Moon, Bebe in A Chorus Line, a Silly Girl, The Enchantress, and a Dancing Napkin in Beauty and the Beast, and Vanna in Clue, The Musical. Notable recognitions include Best Choreography Awards at regional dance competitions for Bravo! and Talent on Parade. Jenny is also a Board Member for both CenterStage and Shelby County Community Theatre. Her favorite part about teaching at Dancensation is seeing those "lightbulb" moments - when a student fully understands and executes a step or combination they have been working to achieve! Her second favorite is when her students walk off stage at the end of a performance, filled with pure joy in knowing that they left everything on the floor!
AMBERLY SIMPSON
Amberly M. Simpson is a dancer, educator, and choreographer local to Louisville, KY. She attended Purdue University where she earned a minor in Dance, and Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Creative Writing, as well as Bellarmine University where she earned a Master of the Arts in Teaching. She is now the full-time Dance teacher at Noe Middle School and has also presented works with her own company, Ambo Dance Theatre, for venues such as Voices HEaRD (2017-2018), the Kentucky Refugee Ministry’s ‘We Create’ Festival (2018) and Art Makes Home Exhibition (2020), Fund for the Arts Opening Night at Churchill Downs (2017-2019), the Louisville Dance Series (2017-2020), Brighton Dance Festival (2019), Lighthouse Dance Festival (2019), the Going Dutch Festival (2020), and Princeton Research Day (2019) where her collaboration with David Vartanyan received the Impact Award. In 2019, Amberly presented her work around the codification and teaching of Nontraditional Partnering at the National Dance Education Organization annual conference, where she was also the recipient of the Professional Development Scholarship Award. EMERSON WALKER
Emerson Walker has been a student teacher at Dancensation for 3 years. He is a current senior at the Youth Performing Arts School where he majors in Musical Theatre. He has performed for many local community and professional theater companies such as StageOne Family Theater, Centerstage, and Derby Dinner Playhouse.
STEPHEN VAUGHT
Stephen is a native of Louisville, Ky and a proud graduate of YPAS (MT 2017). Since graduating in 2017, Stephen has been traveling around the country working professionally in the industry. Favorite Credits include: Referee/Angel in Kinky Boots (Broadway Palm) Benny Southstreet in Guys and Dolls (Broadway Palm), Mary Sunshine in Chicago (Broadway Palm), Ensemble/Thief in 42nd Street (Broadway Palm), Ensemble in Holiday Inn (Dutch Apple), Ugly in Honk! (Dutch Apple), Male Swing in The Will Rogers Follies (Dutch Apple), Drape in Cry Baby (Tent Theatre). Stephen is an active Equity membership Candidate.
Stephen loves his Dancensation family and takes every opportunity to return to his roots whenever he can. He really appreciates having the chance to make an impression on the kids at a young age and hopefully give them the theatre bug that he was bitten with oh so many years ago!
AUDREY BELLE ADAMS

Audrey Belle is a proud 15 year Dancensation Studios Alum! She was a Performer of the Year and was a student teacher at the studio. Miss Audrey went to the Youth Performing Arts School and majored in musical theatre and then went on to study opera at the University of Kentucky. Miss Audrey graduated in 2019 and moved to New York City to pursue her career in musical theatre. She is now on the national tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory playing the role of Mrs. Gloop!
MICHAEL CALLAHAN

Michael Callahan is a Performer/Choreographer based out of New York City. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Michael studied at The Youth Performing Arts School, Dancensation, Broadway Theatre Project, and Interlochen Arts Academy. He went on to earn his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Elon University. Broadway/National Tours include Cinderella the Musical (Raccoon/Ensemble/u/s Jean Michel) and Aladdin the Musical (Dance Captain/Fight Captain/Swing/u/s Iago/u/s Aladdin). Regionally, he has worked with Musical Theatre Louisville, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus, Goodspeed Opera House, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, TUTS, Hangar Theatre and Derby Dinner Playhouse. Currently Michael is in the Broadway Production of Aladdin the Musical (Swing/u/s Iago) and is the Dance Supervisor of Aladdin-Mexico City. www.michaelcallahan.me
ABIGAIL HARDY

Abigail Hardy is 19 years old, and a current Sophomore BFA Musical Theatre major at Austin Peay State University. She was a student with Dancensation Studios for three years and was a Showbiz Kid, a Dazzler, and won Performer of the Year in 2017. She loves teaching at Dancensation when I am home from college because it is so much fun! All of the students and staff are STARS!
FAITH MURPHY
Faith Murphy, a native to Chicago, has been living in Louisville since 2006. She received her Bachelors degree in vocal performance from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. After graduation she spent two years as a caberet singer and dancer on the Spirit of Chicago and performed in various shows around the Windy City. She has been the choir director at Epiphany Catholic Church since 2009 and has been a music teacher at St. Francis School in Goshen since 2014. She is also currently writing and hosting the third season of the music education podcast, “The Music Box,” with Louisville Public Media. Faith loves being a part of the Dancensation family not only as a teacher, but also as a mother of three. When she isn’t working one of her many musical jobs you will find her on the hiking trails with her family and dog, Julep, or working her other creative juices through making art.
THERESA MUDD - Ballet
Dance educator, performer, choreographer, a “hoofer and singer” since the age of three, Theresa has never stopped dancing. A Louisville native, she was accepted into the Louisville Civic Ballet at the age of 12, performing in classical ballets as well as contemporary ballet and modern works. At age 18, she won the state title and represented Kentucky in the National Society of Arts and Letters Ballet Competition in her first choreographic effort. Theresa holds a BA in Dance and Drama from Bard College and an MA in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Arizona. She has trained, performed, choreographed, and taught classical ballet, modern, and flamenco extensively for professional companies, universities, and schools around the country, including Ballet Tucson; Arizona Dance Theatre; Ballet Español, Louisville’s former flamenco dance company; and Moving Collective. From 1988-2015, Theresa taught ballet, pointe, pas de deux, modern, and body conditioning in the Dance Department at the Youth Performing Arts School and was Chair of the Dance Department from 1996-2013. At YPAS, she re-staged excerpts from many classical ballets, including Paquita, Raymonda, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides, Don Quixote, Sylvia, Le Corsaire, and Spring Waters, as well as created original ballet and modern choreography.After 27 years at YPAS, Theresa retired in 2015. She joined Dancensation Studios in 2018 and loves the staff and students.
